Very neat and nice design. Good work, I liked the way you represented the design. Regarding ur idea, it looks prety similar to the existing leg press dustbin. So, it is not showing any new in the design. Also, I think it's not a good idea to use foot pedal mechanism in public places coz it will get easily damazed by the rough handling of the public. That's why usually for any public use product, the designs were made sturdy such that it involves less of mechanical parts that interact with the user. Try to think of something that will last longer without any maintenance. Rest is fine
But might be if we can build the bin in strata's or vertical sections for different waste types, and provide a separate mouth for each section, we may be able to make the bin little bit more compact ????

So pls can you give some better design approach ????
